Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Julia Mamaea facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of Lydian civic coinage under Severus Alexander. The empress is depicted with an elaborately coiffed hairstyle secured by a diadem, the drapery visible at the truncation of the shoulder. The obverse legend encircles the effigy in Greek characters, identifying the subject as Julia Mamaea Augusta. The flan shows characteristic irregular casting and surface patination consistent with provincial bronze issues of the early third century AD.
