| Obverse description | Draped bust of Tyche facing right, wearing a turreted mural crown, her hair rendered in wavy locks falling to the shoulder. The figure is depicted with a polos or castellated crown characteristic of civic Tyche personifications in Asia Minor. The Greek legend ΛΑΟΔΙΚΕΙΑ encircles the bust, identifying the city. The style reflects the provincial bronze coinage of the Phrygian city of Laodicea ad Lycum under Philip I. |
