| Obverse description | Bare head of Asclepius facing right, with characteristic flowing beard and hair rendered in fine relief. A serpent-entwined staff (caduceus of Asclepius) is depicted before the bust in the left field. The Greek legend ΑΣΚΛΑΠΙΟΣ appears around the portrait, identifying the deity. The style is consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the Severan and early imperial period, with somewhat worn surface details typical of circulated Æ issues. |
