Additional information

Corinth's colonial coinage under the Julio-Claudians was administered by locally appointed duoviri — the IIVIR in this legend — Roman magistrates responsible for civic governance including the authorization of bronze issues. The name C. Candidus appearing here is otherwise poorly attested, which makes this piece a small piece of prosopographical evidence for the colonial administration at a moment when Nero had just succeeded Claudius, barely a year into his principate.
