| Obverse description | Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Maximus to right, depicted from behind in the characteristic Phrygian provincial style. The portrait effigy faces right with paludamentum visible over the cuirass. The encircling Greek legend reads Γ ΙΟΥ ΟΥΗΡ ΜΑΞΙΜΟϹ around the periphery of the flan. The coin's surface exhibits heavy bronze patina consistent with extended circulation and burial. |
