Obverse description Draped bust of Empress Crispina facing right, her hair elaborately arranged and possibly diademed, as typical of her Antonine-era portraiture. The effigy occupies the central field of the flan. The peripheral legend ΚΡΙϹΠΕΙΝΑ ϹΕΒΑϹΤΗ encircles the bust in Greek characters, identifying her as Augusta. The die work reflects the provincial hammered coinage tradition of Phrygia under the reign of Marcus Aurelius.
