| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Marcus Aurelius facing right, with paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Samaritan civic coinage, with a broad circular Greek legend surrounding the portrait in the field. The lettering reads partially as Κ ΑΥ ΑΝΤωΝΙΝΟϹ ΕΥϹ, identifying the emperor by his imperial titulature. The flan is irregular and the strike somewhat off-centre, typical of hammered provincial bronzes of the Antonine period. |
