Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Marcus Aurelius facing right, with paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Samaritan civic coinage, with a broad circular Greek legend surrounding the portrait in the field. The lettering reads partially as Κ ΑΥ ΑΝΤωΝΙΝΟϹ ΕΥϹ, identifying the emperor by his imperial titulature. The flan is irregular and the strike somewhat off-centre, typical of hammered provincial bronzes of the Antonine period.
