| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Elagabalus facing right, rendered in three-quarter rear view, with paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The imperial effigy displays the characteristic youthful features associated with this emperor's provincial coinage. A Greek legend partially encircles the bust in the outer field. The die work is typical of the Lydian regional mint tradition, showing bold if somewhat provincial modeling of the imperial portrait. |
