Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Elagabalus facing right, depicted with youthful features characteristic of his portraiture on provincial coinage. The bust is rendered in a provincial style typical of the Antiochene mint, with drapery visible at the shoulder. A Greek legend encircles the effigy along the border, reading ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙ ΜΑΡ ΑΥΡ ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝΟϹ ϹΕ, identifying the emperor by his official titulature. A beaded border frames the design.
