| Obverse description | Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Elagabalus facing right, seen from the rear, with paludamentum visible over the left shoulder and segmented cuirass across the chest. The imperial effigy is rendered in the typical provincial style of the Arabian mint at Bostra. The encircling Greek legend identifies the emperor by his adopted name Antoninus. The flan is slightly irregular, consistent with provincial hammered coinage of the Severan period. |
