| Reverse description | The twin Dioscuri, Castor and Pollux, depicted standing facing or in frontal pose between their horses, a composition well attested in the civic coinage of Asia Minor. The figures are shown in typical heroic stance, each flanked by a horse. The ethnic legend ΟΡΘΩϹΙΕΩΝ is inscribed around the field, identifying the issuing city of Orthosia in Caria. The overall design is consistent with the provincial bronze coinage tradition of the Conventus of Alabanda under the Flavian dynasty. |
