| 正面描述 | Laureate head of Emperor Domitian facing right, portrayed in the Roman imperial tradition with a wreath of laurel encircling the head. The legend surrounds the effigy in Greek characters, filling the field around the portrait. The bust is rendered in a typical Alexandrian provincial style, with slightly rough execution characteristic of local mint production. |

Year 2 of Domitian's reign as counted by the Alexandrian calendar — Etos Beta — which is how this issue gets its designation. Alexandria ran its own regnal count from the Egyptian New Year in late August, meaning coins from the same Roman calendar year could carry different Alexandrian year numerals depending on which side of that date they were struck. Domitian's reign ended with his assassination in 96 AD and a formal damnatio memoriae, yet Alexandrian bronzes of his earlier years survived in quantity, the damnatio having considerably less reach in Egypt than in Rome itself.
