| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Commodus facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of Corinthian colonial coinage. The portrait displays the characteristic features of Commodus with a wreath of laurel encircling the head. The circumferential Latin legend runs around the periphery of the flan. The overall strike is somewhat weak, consistent with the irregular flan shape common to provincial bronze issues of this period. |
