| Obverse description | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Caracalla facing right, seen from the front, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Mesopotamian civic coinage. Below the imperial effigy, an eagle stands left with head turned right and wings fully spread, a common Severan-era emblem of imperial authority. The partial Greek legend ΑΝΤΟΝΙΝΟ (for Antoninus) runs along the periphery. The die work is typical of the Nisibis mint, exhibiting a bold if somewhat irregular strike on a roughly flan. |
