| Obverse description | Bare laureate head of the emperor Caligula (Gaius Caesar) facing right, rendered in the portraiture style typical of early Julio-Claudian provincial coinage. The effigy is depicted with short-cropped hair beneath a laurel wreath, with facial features characteristic of the emperor's known portrait type. The Greek legend ΓΑΙΟΣ ΚΑΙΣΑΡ encircles the bust in the field. The flan is slightly irregular, consistent with hand-struck provincial bronze production. |
