Obverse description Radiate bare head of Emperor Caligula (Gaius Caesar) facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style with visible radiate crown consisting of short rays emanating from the head. The portrait displays the characteristic facial features of the emperor in a somewhat schematic provincial execution. The Greek legend ΓΑΙΟΣ ΚΑΙΣΑΡ (Gaius Caesar) is disposed around the effigy in the field.
