Obverse description Jugate bare heads of Germanicus and Drusus facing one another in confronted portrait format, both depicted as youthful princes without diadem or laurel. The two effigies are rendered in a characteristic Julio-Claudian provincial style, with the Greek legend ΓΕΡΜΑΝΙΚΟΣ ΔΡΟΥΣΟΣ ΦΙΛΑΔΕΛΦΟΙ ('Germanicus and Drusus, the Brother-Lovers') arranged around the periphery of the field. The portraits face each other across the coin's center, a compositional device emphasizing the fraternal bond celebrated in the obverse legend.
