The whole is enclosed within a beaded border. |

Anineta was a minor Macedonian community whose civic coinage under Antoninus Pius survives in very small numbers — RPC IV.2 records only a handful of specimens for this type. The dedicatory formula ΑΝΘΕϹΤΙΟϹ ΑΝΕΘΗΚΕ names a local magistrate, Anthestios, as the individual responsible for commissioning the issue, a practice common in provincial minting where civic benefactors funded coin production as an act of public munificence rather than through central authority.
The site of Anineta itself remains imprecisely located within Macedonia, which complicates die-study work on this series.
