| Obverse description | Laureate head of Vespasian facing right, rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style with characteristic broad features and short neck. The emperor is depicted with a wreath of laurel leaves encircling his head, a mark of imperial and divine honour. The surrounding Greek legend naming the emperor runs around the periphery of the flan. The flan is irregular and somewhat worn, consistent with hammered provincial bronze coinage of the early Flavian period. |
