Obverse description Laureate head of Emperor Vespasian facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style with characteristic portraiture of the Flavian dynasty. The neck is bare and the facial features are boldly modeled. A circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy, reading ΟΥΕϹΠΑϹΙΑΝΟϹ ΚΑΙϹΑΡ, identifying the emperor as Vespasian Caesar.

Reverse description A tetrastyle temple depicted in frontal elevation, showing four columns supporting an entablature and pediment with an acroteria finial at the apex. A cult figure or statue appears within the intercolumniation. The Greek ethnic legend ϹΑΡΔΙΑΝΩΝ is distributed in the field to either side of the temple, identifying the issuing city of Sardis.
