Obverse description Laureate head of the emperor Vespasian facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style characteristic of Aeolian civic coinage. The portrait displays the characteristic mature physiognomy of Vespasian, with a laurel wreath encircling the head. A Greek legend surrounds the effigy, reading ΒΑϹΠΑϹΙΑΝΟΝ ΑΥΤΟΚΡΑΤΟΡΑ ΚΑΙϹΑΡΑ, identifying the emperor in the accusative case as was customary in eastern provincial issues.
