| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style with characteristic bold portraiture. The emperor's head is adorned with a laurel wreath, and traces of drapery are visible at the truncation of the bust. The encircling Greek legend naming Trajan with his imperial titles runs around the periphery of the flan. The coin's irregular flan and worn surfaces are typical of Alexandrian bronze issues of this period. |
