Obverse description Laureate head of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in the typical provincial style of the Mysian mint at Cyzicus. The emperor's effigy displays the characteristic short hair and strong facial features associated with Trajanic portraiture. A circular Greek legend surrounds the bust, reading ΑΥΤ ΝΕΡΒΑ ΤΡΑΙΑΝΟΣ ΚΑΙ ΣΕ Γ, conferring upon the emperor his full titulature as Imperator, Caesar, and Augustus Germanicus. The flan is irregular, as is common for hammered provincial bronzes of this period.
