Reverse description Athena standing right in martial pose, clad in aegis and helmet, her right hand resting on a long spear held upright, while her left hand rests upon a large round shield set on the ground beside her. The figure is rendered in the classical Promachos-influenced type common to provincial civic bronzes of Asia Minor. The ethnic legend ΓΡΙΜΕΝΟΘΥΡΕΩΝ curves around the field, identifying the issuing city of Grimenothyrae.
