| Description du revers | Nike, the goddess of victory, advancing to the left in full stride, her drapery rendered in flowing folds consistent with provincial bronze die work of the early third century AD. She holds a long palm branch in her left hand and extends a wreath in her right, emblematic of civic triumph and imperial favour. The ethnic legend of the issuing city appears in the field, identifying the coin as a civic issue of Bargylia in Caria. The overall composition is compact and well-centred within the flan, though surface wear has softened the finer details of the figure. |
