The Hyrgaleis were a small Lydian community whose coins are poorly documented and rarely surface in trade. The civic designation ΤΟ ΤϚ — indicating a sixth neokorate or civic era count, depending on interpretation — is itself a point of unresolved scholarly dispute. This issue belongs to the early reign of Severus Alexander, when provincial mints across the Conventus of Apamea briefly flourished before the broader contraction of Lydian civic coinage that preceded the near-total collapse of the provincial bronze system under the military pressures of the 230s.
