| Beschrijving keerzijde | Asclepius, the god of medicine, depicted standing facing with head turned to the left, his body draped in a long himation. He holds his characteristic knotted serpent staff (the rod of Asclepius) in his right hand, with the coiled serpent entwined around it clearly visible. The figure is rendered in a static, hieratic pose typical of provincial bronze coinage of the Severan period. The ethnic legend of the issuing city is disposed around the figure in the field. |
