Obverse description Laureate head of Septimius Severus facing right, with short beard rendered in fine detail characteristic of early Severan provincial portraiture. The imperial effigy is depicted with naturalistic facial features and the radiate laurel wreath clearly defined atop the head. A partial Greek legend surrounds the portrait within a beaded border, identifying the emperor by his titles. The style and fabric are consistent with the civic bronze coinage of Lydian mints under the Severan dynasty.
