| Obverse description | Bare laureate head of Emperor Nero facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Aeolian mint output. The portrait displays the emperor's characteristic thick neck and youthful features, with a wreath of laurel securing the hair. The Greek legend ΝΕΡΩΝΑ ϹΕΒΑϹΤΟΝ (Nerona Sebaston) surrounds the effigy in the field, identifying the emperor in the accusative case as was standard for Greek imperial issues of this period. |
