背面描述 Standing figure of Artemis-Selene facing, head turned to the right, wearing a crescent on her head and a quiver on her shoulder, holding a bow in one hand and an arrow in the other. The deity is presented in a formal hieratic pose typical of Pamphylian civic coinage. The ethnic legend ΠΕΡΓΑΙΩΝ appears in the field, identifying the issuing city of Perge.

附加信息

Perge was among the most prolific civic minting authorities in Pamphylia during the third century, but the Maximinus Thrax issues are notably compressed into just three years — his entire reign. Thrax never visited the eastern provinces; civic mints like Perge operated on their own administrative momentum, striking his portrait largely as a formality of imperial acknowledgment rather than any directed policy from Rome.

He was murdered by his own troops outside Aquileia in 238, one of three emperors to die that year.
