Obverse description Helmeted and draped bust of Roma facing right, wearing a crested Corinthian helmet with cheek-guards and elaborate plume; the hair flows loosely behind the neck, lending a dynamic quality to the effigy. A spear is visible to the left of the bust, serving as a martial attribute befitting the goddess. The style is consistent with provincial bronze coinage of Caria under the reign of Marcus Aurelius, with bold, slightly schematic modeling typical of the Aphrodisian mint. No legend is apparent on the obverse, the iconography alone identifying the deity.
