| Obverse description | Laureate head of Hadrian facing left, rendered with characteristic curling hair and short beard in the Alexandrian provincial style. The portrait is set within a beaded border, with the imperial legend disposed around the periphery of the field. The effigy displays the emperor's distinctive physiognomy with well-modelled facial features typical of Hadrianic Alexandrian coinage. The legend reads retrograde, an occasional feature of Alexandrian provincial bronzes of this period. |
