| Reverse description | A griffin seated to the right occupies the central field, depicted with folded wings and leonine hindquarters in a heraldic pose. The griffin's raised right forepaw rests upon a wheel, a symbol associated with solar and chthonic iconography in Alexandrian religious tradition. The regnal date legend L ΙΔ, denoting the fourteenth year of Hadrian's reign, appears in the right field. The reverse field is otherwise plain, with no exergual line, and the overall style is consistent with the compact, boldly struck types of the Alexandrian mint under Hadrian. |
