| Obverse description | Veiled and draped bust of Boule facing right, rendered in the typical civic personification style of Asia Minor provincial coinage. The veil falls softly over the head and shoulders, with visible drapery folds across the chest. The legend ΙΕΡΑ ΒΟΥΛΗ (Sacred Council) frames the bust, identifying the personification of the city council of Aphrodisias. The portrait is modelled in a dignified, matronly manner characteristic of third-century Carian civic issues. |
