Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Elagabalus facing right, presented from a rear three-quarter perspective, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The imperial effigy occupies the central field of the flan, with the surrounding legend partially legible along the periphery. The portrait reflects the provincial Roman die-cutting style characteristic of Arabian colonial coinage of the early third century AD. The flan is irregular and the surfaces are heavily patinated, limiting the resolution of fine detail.
