| Reverse description | Asclepius, the god of medicine, depicted standing facing, his weight distributed evenly as he leans upon his attribute, the serpent-entwined staff (the kerykeion of Asclepius). The figure is rendered in the conventional provincial style, with the deity shown in full length. The reverse legend ΑΔΡΙΑΝΕΩΝ, identifying the issuing city of the Hadrianeans, runs around the periphery. The coin's heavily encrusted green patina obscures much of the fine engraving detail. |
