Obverse description Radiate head of Domitian facing right, depicted in the Hellenistic imperial tradition with a crown of radiating spikes. The portrait displays the emperor's characteristic features in moderate relief. The Greek legend ΑΥΤΟ ΚΑΙ ΔΟΜΙ ϹΕΒΑ ΓΕΡ, abbreviating his full titulature as Emperor Caesar Domitian Augustus Germanicus, is distributed around the periphery of the coin. The flan is irregular, as typical of provincial bronzes struck under the Conventus of Miletus during the Flavian period.

Reverse description The iconic xoanon, or archaic cult statue, of Hera Samia standing facing right, rendered in a stiff, frontal hieratic style characteristic of the celebrated sanctuary of Hera on Samos. The figure is shown swathed in a close-fitting garment with schematic drapery folds, the arms held close to the body in the manner of the ancient idol. The ethnic legend ϹΑΜΙΩΝ appears around the figure, identifying the issuing community. A dotted border frames the design on the irregular flan.
