| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of the Roman Emperor Domitian facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Judaean civic coinage. The portrait displays the emperor's laureate wreath in clear relief, with drapery visible at the truncation of the shoulder. A Greek legend encircles the effigy, reading ΔΟΜΕΤ ΚΑΙϹΑΡ to the left and ΓΕΡΜΑΝ to the right, identifying Domitian by his titles. The flan is irregular and the die work reflects local provincial craftsmanship rather than the refined style of the imperial Roman mint. |
