| Descrizione del rovescio | Two tunnies (Atlantic bluefin tuna, Thunnus thynnus) depicted in the field, one above the other: the upper tunny oriented to the left, the lower tunny oriented to the right, both rendered in profile in the schematic style typical of Cyzicene civic bronze coinage. The Greek ethnic legend ΚΥΖΙΚΗ arcs across the upper field above the fish. The tunny was the emblem of Cyzicus and a symbol of the city's celebrated fishing industry on the Propontis. |
