| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Emperor Commodus facing right, depicted with long beard, wearing cuirass and paludamentum, rendered in a three-quarter frontal perspective. The imperial effigy is presented in the provincial style characteristic of Lesbos civic coinage of the late 2nd century AD. A partial Greek legend surrounds the bust, partially visible at left and right of the field. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show typical wear consistent with provincial bronze coinage of this period. |
