| Reverse description | Winged Nemesis standing left, her right hand plucking the chiton at the neckline in the characteristic gesture of the goddess, while her left hand holds a cubit rule. A wheel, her canonical attribute, is positioned at her feet to the lower left. The composition follows the standard iconographic type of Nemesis well established in Smyrnaean coinage of the Imperial period, rendered in competent provincial die-engraving. The encircling legend ϹΜΥΡΝΑΙΩΝ in Greek denotes the civic authority. |
