Reverse description Full-length figure of veiled Demeter standing facing left, rendered in the conventional Hellenistic tradition. The goddess is depicted holding a lit torch in her right hand and two ears of grain in her lowered left hand, her attributes as deity of the harvest and of civic abundance. She is clothed in a long chiton and himation, with the veil characteristic of her cult. The Greek magistrate's legend is distributed in the field to either side of the figure.
