| Obverse description | Laureate head of the emperor Caracalla facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of Asia Minor civic coinage. The portrait displays the characteristic features of the young emperor, with laurel wreath encircling the head. A partial Greek legend appears in the field, of which only a fragment is legible on this heavily worn specimen. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show extensive patination consistent with long burial. |
