Obverse description Draped bust of Julia Domna facing right, her hair elaborately waved and coiled at the nape in her characteristic Severan style. The legend ΙΟΥΛΙΑ ϹΕΒΑϹΤΗ surrounds the bust, identifying her as Augusta. The flan is irregular and the surfaces heavily patinated with green encrustation, typical of provincial bronze coinage from the Troad region.

Reverse description The cult statue of Athena Ilias, depicted standing to the right and mounted atop a short decorated column at left, wearing a kalathos (cylindrical headdress) and holding a spear and spindle, emblematic of the sacred image venerated at Ilium. To the right, a cow strides to the left, a probable allusion to local sacred or civic traditions. The ethnic legend ΙΛΙΕΩΝ appears in the field, identifying the issuing city. The composition reflects the deep civic pride of Ilium in its Trojan heritage and the cult of Athena Ilias.
