| Obverse description | Bare head of Augustus facing right, rendered in the portrait style characteristic of early Imperial provincial coinage. The effigy displays the emperor's features in profile with naturalistic modeling. The abbreviated legend EX D D appears in the field to the left of the portrait, attesting to the civic authority by decree of the local decurions. The flan is irregular and slightly coarse, consistent with provincial Hispanic mint production of the Augustan period. |
