| Obverse description | Laureate head of Augustus facing right, rendered in the idealized Hellenistic portrait style characteristic of Augustan provincial coinage. A lituus (augural staff) appears in the field before the portrait, signifying the emperor's role as augur. The legend ΣΕΒΑΣΤΟΣ is disposed around the bust in Greek characters.
