| Obverse description | Laureate head of Antoninus Pius facing right, with traces of drapery visible at the shoulder truncation. The imperial effigy is rendered in the typical provincial style, with the laureate wreath clearly delineated on the portrait. A Greek legend surrounds the bust, partially worn, reading ΑΥΤο ΚΑΙϹΑΡ ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝοϹ, identifying the emperor as Autocrator Caesar Antoninus. The flan is irregular in shape, consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the Antonine period. |
