Additional information

Perperene was a minor Aeolian settlement in the Caicus River valley, administratively folded into the conventus of Pergamum under Roman provincial organization. Its civic coinage is sparse and poorly documented — the magistrate name partially preserved in this issue's legend remains unresolved in the standard references, which is itself typical of small Mysian mints that struck only intermittently and often without consistent epigraphic practice.
