Reverse description Asclepius, the god of medicine, standing facing with head turned to the left, depicted in long robes with a serpent-entwined staff (kerykeion) held in his right hand, the serpent coiling prominently around the lower portion of the staff. The figure is rendered in the classical provincial style typical of Bithynian civic coinage. The Greek legend ΑΔΡΙΑ ΒΙΘΥΝΙΕΩΝ is distributed in the field around the deity, referencing the Hadrianic foundation of the city.
