The epithet ΖΕΥϹ ϹΥΡΓΑϹΤΗϹ — Zeus Syrgastes — is not a widely attested cult title, and its precise meaning and local origins remain debated among scholars of Bithynian religion. Tium was a small coastal polis on the Black Sea shore of Bithynia, frequently overshadowed by its neighbors Amastris and Heraclea Pontica, and its civic coinage under Antoninus Pius represents one of the few windows into its local cult life. The cult name likely reflects a regional Anatolian syncretism absorbed into the Zeus pantheon.
